In the aftermath of the United States elections last year, I had to step away. The emotional devastation of policy repeals and challenges were too difficult to write about and I needed to protect my own mental health.
On top of all that was happening nationally, our family experienced some significant changes during 2025. We relocated from Topeka, KS to Ogden, UT in June. It was a long time coming to leave the prairies and move back to the mountains. Almost all our biological family is out west and it was time to be closer to them as well. Moving shifted jobs, family life, and created new challenges that we have been navigating over the last 9 months which made it hard to step back into this space.
But I know I am not done with this space. God has been speaking to my heart that it was time to begin again. Not an easy thing to do. The hardest step in any journey is the first. Once you get moving it is easier to continue, but initiating movement is tough. So here I go.
The goal is to be back weekly bringing you tales of life as a mother rooted in faith who cares about humans’ impact on our planet both for current day and future generations. Depending on the week they could vary wildly in content including anecdotes, science, actions, reflections, prayers, and laments.
Hope to see you around.
Hope and Joy,
Arwyn
